Promethean Pathology

Promethean Pathology is different enough from the better-known black and death metal works of its members (though Stormkeep melodies shine through), and it is also distinct enough as compared to many other “avant-garde” or industrial BM albums, so it gets some shiny points for managing to stick out in a very crowded field. The electronic effects are integrated tastefully and oftentimes quite minimally, adding to but never overpowering the riff-filled delights on display. Gents sure are talented!

I revisited the 2018 album and remembered how much this band stands out. Industrial is not always appealing, but some bands are definitely worth it. Borgne is a very solid representative of the genre. This music is not repetitive or annoying, and it’s definitely still black metal despite the industrial edge. Highly recommended.
